Our Role in Hull Damage
Following a hull damage incident, our key role is to manage and coordinate all necessary actions to support your claims process. We do not conduct direct surveys, but rather:
- Prompt Response & Surveyor Appointment: Upon receiving notification of a hull damage incident, we promptly appoint a competent surveyor our of our own source (around 20 survey companies) and dispatch the surveyor to the scene to coordinate an initial response.
- Investigation & Reporting Management: We oversee the appointed surveyor to ensure they accurately investigate the extent and cause of the damage, as well as the cost of repairs.
- Evidence Preservation & Reporting: We secure all necessary evidence, including the surveyor’s report, vessel logbooks, and crew statements, to provide you with swift and accurate reports.
Our Hull Damage Process
We follow a structured and transparent process to manage every hull damage claim, from initial notification to final reporting.
- Notification & Response: As soon as we are notified of a hull damage incident, we take the necessary steps to appoint a surveyor and initiate the claims process.
- Survey Coordination: We coordinate the surveyor’s on-site investigation to ensure the cause and extent of the damage are accurately determined.
- Interim Report: Based on the surveyor’s interim findings, we provide you with a preliminary report to keep you informed of the situation.
- Expert Coordination: As directed by the P&I Club, we coordinate with additional experts, such as repair shipyards or legal professionals.
- Final Report: We submit a detailed final report, which includes all survey findings and information, to help you resolve the claim.
